Step outside the city and head into the eastern suburbs. Located on a limestone outcrop 15 kilometres north of Kuala Lumpur, Batu caves is one of the most popular tourist attraction in Selangor. This famous destination draws people from all over the world during the annual Hindu festival, Thaipusam. It consists of three big caves, including the main temple cave which features ornate Hindu shrines. Another attraction is the 140 feet statue of Lord Muruga, reputed to be the tallest in the world.
